I guess that is where we differ. I think going outside and peacefully demonstrating is one way of showing reverence and appreciation for civilization since one of civilization’s hallmarks is peacefully demonstrating. I think democracy is more than voting at such-and-such intervals. To me, democracy is about having a voice which can take the form of a vote, but also a march, donation to a campaign, or blog post.

I guess I’m a conservative that way — I believe in conserving the traditions of American democracy.
